Shaft usually quite thin, but always gradually tapering distally and often with setules confined to preannular region and denticles to post-annular; setules often long and thin, but sometimes short and broad, sometimes apposed to or interspersed with denticles; may grade into cuspidate setae [Ingle, 1992].
