One of pair of posteriorly directed cephalic-shield extensions; in cirripeds (Balanomorpha), triangular lateral part of compartment plate delimited from paries, which is overlapped by adjacent compartment plate with or without radius. (Pl. alae) [Moore and McCormick, 1969].

One of two posterolateral extensions of carapace. (broad, broadly rounded, narrowly rounded, elongate and coiled behind thorax, greatly elongated; extending to second, third, or fourth thoracomere, to abdomen, beyond abdomen) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
