(Syn. branchia) [Stachowitsch, 1992].(Order Euphausiacea):Respiratory structure associated with second through eighth thoracopods. Projects from basal segment (coxa) of appendages, thus representing an epipod and often being termed podobranch. Not covered by carapace.
